    Egypt has extended until 2024 the length of its concession agreement with the group developing Meleiha Block in the Western Desert.
  • 04/16/2007 -- Partners spud Golitza-1 well in Bulgaria
    JKX Oil & Gas unit JKX Bulgaria has spudded the Golitza-1 exploration well targeting Jurassic sands, Triassic limestones, and Triassic sands on the B-Golitza exploration permit in Bulgaria.
  • 04/16/2007 -- Circle Oil acquires interests in Tunisian acreage
    Circle Oil PLC has acquired interests in acreage in Tunisia under a farm-in agreement signed with Exxoil Tunisie. The deal is subject to final approval from Tunisian authorities.
  • 04/16/2007 -- Eni acquires, will operate license off Congo
    Eni SPA will operate 1, 103 sq km of new exploration acreage off Congo (Brazzaville) following the signing of the new license with the Congolese authorities. The permit is 15 km offshore in 20-50 m of water.

    BP Exploration (Angola) Ltd. has made an oil discovery on ultradeepwater Block 31 off Angola. The Miranda find is the company's 13th discovery to date on the block.

    Lakes Oil NL, Melbourne, has finalized an agreement with Denver-based PetroHunter Energy Corp. to jointly develop Lakes Oil's onshore tight-gas prospects in Victoria's Gippsland and Otway basins (OGJ Online, Nov. 14, 2006).
