    Oil and Natural Gas Corp. Ltd. (ONGC) signed two 3-year contracts with Hercules Offshore Inc., Houston, for the Hercules 258 and Hercules 260 jack up rigs for a drilling program off India.
  • 12/07/2007 -- ConocoPhillips approves $14.3 billion capital budget
    ConocoPhillips approved a 2008 capital budget of $14.3 billion, including cash capital expenditures and capitalized interest. That compares with a 2007 budget of $12.3 billion, including $500,000 of capitalized interest.
  • 12/06/2007 -- BP to increase King oil field production by 20%
    Oil production from offshore King field in the Gulf of Mexico is expected to increase by 20% thanks to the application of multiphase pump equipment that BP has installed.

    Gas production has begun from Total SA-operated Sisi-Nubi fields off East Kalimantan, Indonesia.
  • 11/30/2007 -- US drilling at 13-week high
    US drilling activity jumped to 1,823 rotary rigs working this week, up 50 from the previous week to the largest number in 13 weeks, Baker Hughes Inc. reported Nov. 30. That compares with 1,717 rigs working in the same period last year.

    Natural gas production from Ormen Lange field, the largest gas field in development on the Norwegian Sea's continental shelf, has stopped because of a gas leak in the export compressors.
