HOUSTON, Dec. 21 -- Flair Petroleum Corp., Calgary, purchased a 100% working interest in 760 acres of tar sands leases in the Asphalt Ridge deposit in the Uinta basin.
The acquired leases contain an estimated 58 million bbl of recoverable oil. On site are a 2,800 b/d bitumen separation facility and a refinery that includes a vacuum tower to manufacture high-end products from bitumen.
The leases are adjacent to 1,380 acres of tar sands the company purchased earlier in Uintah County southwest of Vernal.
