Mariner lets Bass Lite flowline, riser contract

Mariner Energy Inc. has let a contract to Technip for the fabrication and installation of a subsea flowline and risers for the Bass Lite development in the Gulf of Mexico.

HOUSTON, Dec. 18 -- Mariner Energy Inc. has let a contract to Technip for the fabrication and installation of a subsea flowline and risers for the Bass Lite development in the Gulf of Mexico.

The contract includes engineering, procurement, fabrication, and installation of a steel flowline that will tie back subsea wells in 6,750 ft of water on Atwater Valley Block 426 to a steel catenary riser to be installed on the Devils Tower spar in 5,600 ft of water.

Technip also will design and manufacture one flowline end termination, two flowline midline terminations, and it will manufacture and install the jumper.

Offshore installation, to be executed by Technip's deepwater pipelay vessel Deep Blue, is scheduled for fourth quarter 2007.
