HOUSTON, Feb.13 -- AB Mazeikiu Nafta has let a contract to Haldor Topsoe for the revamp of a 41,000 b/sd hydrotreating unit at the 263,400 b/cd Mazeikiu Nafta refinery in northwestern Lithuania.

The hydrotreater will be converted into an ultra-low sulfur diesel unit, which will produce diesel containing less than 8 ppm sulfur. The revamped unit is expected to be fully implemented in early 2007.

The contract covers license, revamp study, basic engineering, detailed engineering of a new reactor, supply of Topsoe's proprietary reactor internals and catalysts, as well as supervisory services.
