Range adds acreage in US shale gas plays

HOUSTON, Jan. 4 -- Range Resources Corp., Fort Worth, said it has accumulated 180,000 acres of leases in US shale gas plays.

The inventory includes 150,000 acres in the Appalachian basin Devonian shale play, 20,000 acres in the Permian basin Barnett/Woodford shale play, and 10,000 acres in the Fort Worth basin Barnett shale play.

The company has begun buying land in the Arkoma basin Fayetteville shale play.
