    Modest gain in oil prices ends 4-day loss

    Crude futures prices rose modestly Dec. 28, ending a losing streak over four consecutive sessions in the New York market, as the Energy Information Administration reported a larger-than-expected plunge in US crude inventories.

    Russia's Economic Development and Trade Ministry has forecast that the country's gas production will increase to 722 billion cu m in 2010, with exports of 223.4 billion cu m. Oil production will grow to 512 million tonnes in 2010, with exports of 271 million tonnes, it said.
