    Verenex Energy Inc., Calgary, has an indicated discovery at its first well on Block 47 in the Ghadames basin, northwestern Libya.

    Pearl Energy Ltd., a unit of Aabar Petroleum Investments Co. PJSC of Abu Dhabi, has been awarded the oil exploration contract for Block G2/48 in the northern Gulf of Thailand.

    Premier Oil PLC unit Premier Oil Vietnam BV has completed successful drillstem testing of two zones of the Blackbird discovery well (12E-CS-1X) on Block 12E off Vietnam.

    The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) interpreted seismic data for Madagascar through a program to assist Madagascar's oil development.

    Melrose Resources PLC, Edinburgh, expects to increase oil and gas reserves of the El Mansoura Concession in the Nile Delta of Egypt on the basis of recent appraisal and development drilling. Melrose holds a 100% working interest in the concession.
