    EnCore Oil PLC and Island Oil & Gas PLC, London, plan to jointly develop their exploration and near-development portfolios in Ireland and the UK.
  • 10/06/2006 -- Petrobras-led group encouraged by oil find off Brazil
    A group led by Brazil's Petroleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras) agreed to accelerate its exploration program based on results from a light oil discovery on Block BM-S-11 in a frontier section of the Santos basin 150 km off Rio de Janeiro, said partner BG Group PLC.

    Japan's Inpex Corp. has agreed to reduce to 10% its concession in Iran's Azadegan oil field from the current 75%, with the outstanding 65% stake to be transferred to National Iranian Oil Co.

    Endeavour International Corp. has reached an agreement in principle with Apache Corp. to participate in two exploratory wells to be drilled by Apache during the fourth quarter in the Norwegian North Sea.

    Mariner Energy Inc., Houston, has reported a gas discovery with its 5ST1 well on High Island (HI) 116 in the Gulf of Mexico.

    Max Petroleum PLC, London, has completed and begun production from the ZMA-2X well, the second of five wells planned on the Zhana Makat A structure on the E Block in the Pre-Caspian basin of Kazakhstan.
  • 10/03/2006 -- Antrim to get interest in UK North Sea block
    Antrim Energy Inc. has reached an agreement to acquire a 75% working interest in Block 21/28a in the Central North Sea from Eni SPA. The block contains the Fyne and Dandy oil fields, which have been delineated with eight wells drilled in 1971-98.

    A group led by Total SA reported the KHA 1-16 oil well in Yemen's East Shabwa Development Area on Block 10 produced more than 8,400 b/d when tested through a 70/64-in. choke, said participant SOCO International PLC, London.

    Iran and Inpex Corp. of Japan are continuing negotiations over development of Azadegan oil field despite missing a Sept. 30 deadline to come to an agreement or end talks, according to state media.
