    Norsk Hydro ASA has submitted a development plan for Oseberg Delta gas field in the Norwegian North Sea and awarded a $25 million contract to FMC Kongsberg Subsea AS, a subsidiary of FMC Technologies Inc., to supply the subsea systems.
  • 07/06/2005 -- Murphy unit lets contract for work off Malaysia
    A Murphy Oil Corp. subsidiary awarded France's Technip SA a contract for engineering, design, supply, and installation of a subsea pipeline and riser system for deepwater Kikeh oil field off Malaysia.
  • 07/06/2005 -- Chevron awarded four blocks off Australia
    Chevron Australia won four deepwater blocks—WA-364-P, WA-365-P, WA-366-P, and WA-367-P—in the Carnarvon basin off Western Australia. Chevron operates a 50-50 combine with Shell Development Australia.

    An oil discovery by the Apache Corp. El Diyur-2X well, drilled to 8,424 ft TD in Jurassic on the El Diyur concession in Egypt's Western Desert, is commercial, a concession partner reported.

    A Newfield Exploration Co. subsidiary has signed a production-sharing contract (PSC) with Petronas Carigali Sdn. Bhd. of Malaysia for the PM 323 area off Malaysia.

    Gulfsands Petroleum PLC plans to conduct an extensive 2D seismic program and drill the first well on 11,000 sq km Block 26 in Syria this year.

    BP Exploration & Production Inc. has found hydrocarbons with its exploration well drilled on the Stones prospect on Walker Ridge Block 508 in the Gulf of Mexico.

    Korea National Oil Co. (KNOC) and Seoul City Gas Co. Ltd. (SCG) have farmed into the Vic/P56 and Vic/P49 permits operated by Nexus Energy Ltd., Melbourne, in the Gippsland basin off Victoria.

    Anadarko Petroleum Corp., Houston, and Purcell Energy Ltd., Calgary, plan more drilling next winter in Northeast British Columbia where they started production from three Devonian Slave Point gas discoveries drilled in the first quarter.

    ExxonMobil Corp. and Apache Corp. agreed to expand their farmout exploration and development activities in Alberta, building on a program announced last year.
  • 05/04/2005 -- KazMunaiGaz to buy stake in Kashagan field
    Kazakhstan's national oil company KazMunaiGaz has signed the final documents to purchase half of British Gas Group's stake in a project to develop Kashagan oil field in the Caspian Sea.
  • 05/03/2005 -- Swift Energy awarded development permit for New Zealand finds
    Swift Energy New Zealand Ltd., a subsidiary of Swift Energy Co., Houston, has been awarded Petroleum Mining Permit (PMP) 38155 by Crown Minerals of the New Zealand Ministry for Economic Development for the development of its Kauri Sand gas-condensate and Manutahi Sand oil discoveries.
  • 04/06/2005 -- Gorgon combine to speed Jansz development
    ChevronTexaco Corp., ExxonMobil Corp., and Royal Dutch/Shell Group agreed to a new ownership structure for the Gorgon gas development off Western Australia, enabling early development of Jansz gas field 50 km north-northwest of Gorgon.
  • 03/15/2005 -- Kerr-McGee tests Schrader Bluff oil
    Kerr-McGee Oil & Gas Corp. has tested as much as 1,200 b/d of 16º-17º gravity oil from the Schrader Bluff reservoir in its Nikaitchuq-4 horizontal appraisal well on Alaska's North Slope.
  • 03/29/2005 -- Murphy reports dry holes and oil strike
    Murphy Oil Corp. reported two dry holes on nonanalogous structures near an earlier discovery off Congo (former Zaire) and an oil discovery off Malaysia.
  • 03/21/2005 -- FMC to supply gulf hub field equipment
    Anadarko Petroleum Corp. has awarded FMC Technologies Inc. a $25 million contract to supply 10 subsea trees and associated equipment for Anadarko wells that will be connected to the Independence Hub platform in the eastern Gulf of Mexico.
