BP Exploration (Angola) Ltd. has made its sixth deepwater discovery on Block 31, 170 km off Angola and 31 km northwest of the recent Palas discovery (OGJ Online, Feb. 15, 2005).

Falcon Oil & Gas, operator, spudded the Fratauti-1 exploration well 6 km from Radauti in northern Romania, reported Europa Oil & Gas (Holdings) PLC, London.

Nexus Energy Ltd., Melbourne, said it believes Longtom gas field, on Permit Vic/P54 in the Gippsland basin off Victoria, contains commercial gas reserves.

Unocal Corp. subsidiary Northrock Resources Ltd., Calgary, made a hydrocarbon discovery on the Summit Creek prospect in the Central Mackenzie Valley area of the Northwest Territories in Canada.

Murphy Oil Corp. reported two dry holes on nonanalogous structures near an earlier discovery off Congo (former Zaire) and an oil discovery off Malaysia.

A five-company consortium headed by Roc Oil Co. Ltd., Sydney, has approved development of Cliff Head oil field, the first field to be developed in the offshore portion of Western Australia's North Perth basin.
03/15/2005 -- ExxonMobil to develop two more Chad fields
Esso Exploration & Production Chad Inc., as the Chad-Cameroon development project reached financial completion in the fourth quarter of 2004, said it will develop two more oil fields near project infrastructure in southwestern Chad.
03/14/2005 -- Reliance, Niko discover more gas off India
Reliance Industries Ltd., Mumbai, and Niko Resources Ltd., Calgary, discovered more natural gas in the deepwater D6 Block in the Bay of Bengal off India's northeast coast.
