HOUSTON, Dec. 29 -- Statoil ASA has awarded a $74 million contract to FMC Kongsberg Subsea, a unit of AS FMC Technologies Inc., to supply subsea systems for the Tampen area in the North Sea.
Delivery of six subsea trees, manifolds, production controls, and associated systems is to begin in 2005 and be completed during the summer of 2006.
FMC will provide supplies for development of Skinfaks field and will enable enhanced oil recovery from the Rimfaks field. Both fields will be tied back to the Gullfaks C platform via existing subsea infrastructure. The fields are located on Blocks 33/12 and 34/10, respectively, in the northern sector of the Norwegian North Sea, in water 460 ft deep.
