HOUSTON, Dec. 28 -- Petro-Canada Netherlands BV has tapped Advanced Production & Loading AS (APL) to supply APL's single anchor loading (SAL) system for use in mooring shuttle tankers to the De Ruyter field platform in the Dutch North Sea and for transferring oil to the tankers for export. The platform will be comprised of a steel gravity storage base supporting an integrated production deck, with oil offloaded directly to the tankers.

De Ruyter lies on Blocks P10 and P11b in the southern part of the Dutch Continental Shelf in 33 m of water. The field development concept is identical to one used in Hanze field 90 km to the north, which Petro-Canada acquired from BP PLC in 2002 and now operates.

De Ruyter natural gas will be exported through a new 33-km, 8-in. pipeline.
