HOUSTON, Aug. 11 -- The BOC Group, Windlesham, UK, plans to construct a hydrogen production and utilities complex to supply more than 110 MMscfd of hydrogen to BP PLC's oil refinery in Toledo, Ohio, and to other industrial customers. A supply agreement between BOP and BP is expected to be finalized soon, and construction will begin by September.

BOC's partner LindeBOC Process Plants, Tulsa, Okla, will perform engineering and construction of the plant.

The hydrogen will enable BP to meet its production capacities of cleaner burning, ultralow-sulfur gasoline and diesel fuels that meet or exceed US Environmental Protection Agency Tier 2 clean fuels standards.
