HOUSTON, July 10 -- GulfTerra Energy Partners LP, Houston, has agreed to construct, own, and operate a 70 mile, 16-in. oil export pipeline and 32 miles of 16-in. natural gas pipeline to deliver production from Kerr-McGee Oil & Gas Corp.'s deepwater Constitution field in the central Gulf of Mexico.

Constitution field, in 5,000 ft of water in Green Canyon Blocks 679 and 680 about 190 miles southwest of New Orleans, La., is 100% owned by the Kerr-McGee Corp. affiliate.

The 200 MMcfd gas pipeline will extend from the field to a point on GulfTerra's existing Anaconda gathering system. The oil pipeline, with a minimum capacity of 80,000 b/d, will link Constitution to the Poseidon and Cameron Highway oil pipeline systems at the recently installed Ship Shoal 332B platform.

GulfTerra plans to install the pipelines in the summer of 2005, with first production scheduled for mid-2006.

The systems will be GulfTerra Energy's second deepwater trend project designed to gather production for Kerr-McGee. Constitution platform will become the third deepwater hub connected to GulfTerra Energy's deepwater Anaconda gathering system along with the Marco Polo and Typhoon tension leg platforms. The system currently gathers production from Typhoon and Boris fields and will gather production from Marco Polo, K2, K2 North, Constitution, and Ticonderoga fields, GulfTerra Energy said. The Constitution oil pipeline will deliver oil from Kerr-McGee and other producers in this part of the Gulf to markets in Texas and Louisiana.
