Duke Energy Gas Transmission names chief financial officer

HOUSTON, Feb. 19 -- Duke Energy Gas Transmission (DEGT) named Alan Harris group vice-president and chief financial officer for Duke Energy Corp.'s Houston-based natural gas transmission, storage, and distribution business unit.

Previously, Harris was DEGT's executive vice-president of strategic development, risk management, information technology, and corporate reserves. Harris joined the company in 1982 as director of gas accounting for Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line and Trunkline Gas.

Harris succeeded Dorthy Ables who became vice-president, audit services, and chief compliance officer for Duke Energy in Charlotte, N.C. Ables joined the company in 1985 as a senior financial analyst in investor relations for PanEnergy Corp.
