Tanker collision off China causes 300 tonne oil leak

HOUSTON, Jan. 2 -- Emergency cleanup operations are continuing in south China's Pearl River mouth after a tanker carrying 1,989 tonnes of fuel oil collided with a container ship Monday near Lingding Island. The collision damaged two compartments in the tanker, spilling 300 tonnes of oil into the sea.
