Devon Energy announces senior management appointments

Devon Energy Corp., Oklahoma City, announced a new president and also a new chief financial officer. It also named a new president for Devon Canada Corp.

HOUSTON, Jan. 8 -- Devon Energy Corp., Oklahoma City, announced a new president and also a new chief financial officer. It also named a new president for Devon Canada Corp.

John Richels was promoted to president of Devon. Previously, he was senior vice-president of Devon and president and CEO of Devon's Canada, having joined Devon in 1998.

Richels succeeded James T. Hackett, who was president and chief operation officer of Devon until he left last month to become president and CEO of Anadarko Petroleum Inc., Houston (OGJ Online, Dec. 4, 2003).

Christopher R. Seasons, executive vice-president of Devon Canada, succeeded Richels as Devon Canada president.

Brian J. Jennings was appointed chief financial officer of Devon, effective Mar. 31. Currently, he is senior vice-president, corporate finance and development. He has senior vice-president since 2001. He joined the company in 2000.
