(TNA)'s planned natural gas pipeline from the Bahamas to Florida received a boost Jan. 23 when the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission released a final environmental impact statement (FEIS) concluding that the US portion of the project can be built with minimal impact to the environment.
  • 01/26/2004 -- Alaska accepts producers' application for Alaska Gas Pipeline 1 day after receiving competitor's
    The Alaska Gas Pipeline project lurched ahead another notch Friday, when Alaska Gov. Frank H. Murkowski delivered letters to North Slope producers BP Group LLC, ConocoPhillips, and ExxonMobil Corp. accepting their joint application to enter into negotiations to build the major pipeline. It would deliver natural gas from the North Slope producing area through Alaska to Canada, which would then deliver it on to Lower 48 and Canadian markets.

    Plains All American Pipeline LP, Houston, expects to complete in the third quarter of this year a 1.1 million bbl expansion of its crude oil storage and terminal facility in Cushing, Okla. The $10 million, Phase IV expansion will expand the facility's total capacity to 6.3 million bbl.

    The Kaska Nation of western Canada and Foothills Pipe Lines Ltd., a subsidiary of TransCanada PipeLines Ltd., signed an agreement in principle Thursday that will provide the framework for a future participation agreement for the Alaska Highway pipeline project, the two parties said in a joint statement. The participation agreement will specify the benefits and opportunities Kaska communities will receive through the advancement of the Alaska Highway natural gas pipeline project.

    An ExxonMobil Corp. affiliate, Vista del Sol LNG Terminal LP, Thursday revealed plans to construct a $600 million LNG receiving terminal in San Patricio County, Tex., 2 miles west of Ingleside on the Texas Gulf Coast. The 1 bcfd terminal will process imported LNG for distribution throughout Texas and the US, beginning in 2008-09.
