Initial information indicates that the incident was caused by a gas leak that ignited.

LG-Caltex Oil Corp., part of the Korean LG Group conglomerate, has awarded Haldor Topsøe AS, Lyngby, Denmark, a contract to convert two hydrotreating units at its LG Caltex 650,000 b/d refinery in Yosu, South Korea, to produce ultralow-sulfur diesel. It is the country's second largest refinery, and provides 30% of the nation's oil supply.

ConocoPhillips (Grissik) Ltd., operator of Suban gas field on the Corridor Block PSC in South Sumatra, recently concluded a gas sales agreement with Indonesia's state gas transportation company PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (Persero) Tbk (PGN) that will lead to Phase II expansion of the field's production and processing facilities and new delivery pipelines. Suban Phase II will be connected to the Corridor PSC's existing gas processing facilities at Grissik in South Sumatra.

The BOC Group, Windlesham, UK, plans to construct a hydrogen production and utilities complex to supply more than 110 MMscfd of hydrogen to BP PLC's oil refinery in Toledo, Ohio, and to other industrial customers. A supply agreement between BOP and BP is expected to be finalized soon, and construction will begin by September.
