Unocal Corp. unit Unocal Indonesia Co., Balikpapan, Indonesia, resumed oil and gas production from its Attaka field off Indonesia Monday. The field had been shut in for 8 days following a flash fire Feb. 21 on one of the company's platforms.
03/04/2004 -- ConocoPhillips to increase North Slope's Alpine field production capacity
ConocoPhillips Alaska, operator of Alpine field in the western-most area of Alaska's North Slope, Thursday reported plans to increase the field's oil production capacity to 140,000 b/d of oil from 105,000 b/d at the conclusion later this year of the $60 million Alpine Capacity Expansion project Phase I that is currently under way (OGJ Online, May 19, 2003).
03/03/2004 -- CAPCO tests potential CBM play in North Texas
Capco Energy Inc., Orange, Calif., said Wednesday it has completed a well drilled to test the coal bed methane (CBM) potential of a 4,131 acre lease in North Texas. Testing will continue for 60 days on the well, which encountered 8 ft of coal at 1100 ft.
