Galaxy Energy names new chief operating officer

HOUSTON, Oct. 28 -- Galaxy Energy Corp., Denver, has appointed Cecil D. Gritz as its chief operating officer.

Most recently, Gritz worked as a consulting petroleum engineer for Habor Petroleum LLC in Granbury, Tex. He has drilling experience in Texas, in Utah's Uinta Basin, and throughout the Rockies.

He started his career as an engineer for Shell Oil Co., followed by many years in numerous positions with smaller private and public oil and gas companies.
