    El Paso Corp. subsidiary Cheyenne Plains Gas Pipeline Co., Houston, has applied for Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approval to construct and operate a 380 mile interstate natural gas pipeline from the Cheyenne Hub south of Cheyenne, Wyo., to Greensburg, Kan. The $332 million Cheyenne Plains pipeline system will interconnect with interstate and intrastate pipelines serving mid-continent markets.

    The Baku Tbilisi Ceyhan Pipeline Co. has begun construction on its 1,768 km pipeline from Baku, Azerbaijan—via Tbilisi, Georgia—to Ceyhan, Turkey. The 1 million b/d BTC pipeline will be the most important export route for oil from the southern Caspian area to the Mediterranean.

The LNG would come from a proposed LNG project Marathon and its partners will develop on Bioko Island, Equatorial Guinea.

    India and Iran have agreed in principle for India to import 5 million tonnes of LNG in phases from Iran under a 25 year contract. To facilitate the imports, the Indian government is expected to build another LNG import terminal on the country's west coast

    Florida Gas Transmission Co., having completed the final stage of its Phase V expansion project, now has construction under way on a $105 million Phase VI expansion: the addition of 121 MMcfd of capacity, with 33 miles of new pipeline and 18,600 hp of compression at existing compressor station sites on its Florida system.
