01/10/2003 -- SeaRiver Maritime signs contract design agreement for proposed tankers
SeaRiver Maritime, the US transportation affiliate of ExxonMobil Corp., reached an agreement with National Steel & Shipbuilding Co. to develop a contract design for a 750,000 bbl capacity, double-hull tanker for transport of Alaskan crude to West Coast refineries.
01/09/2003 -- SABIC obtains financing for ethylene plant
Saudi Arabian Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC) signed a 4.33 billion riyals ($1.154 billion) loan with a consortium of international and local banks to finance construction of a petrochemical plant for its United Petrochemical Co. subsidiary at Jubail Industrial City.

Oman awarded an $879 million contract to a Japanese consortium of JGC Corp. and Yokohama-based Chiyoda Corp. for construction of a new refinery at Sohar, 250 km northwest of Muscat.
01/03/2003 -- AltaGas commissions Joffre ethane extraction plant
Calgary-based AltaGas Services reported that commissioning of the Joffre ethane extraction plant's major systems and equipment is under way, and pre-production testing will continue into this month.
