HOUSTON, Sept. 19 -- Kinder Morgan Inc., through its subsidiary Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America (NGPL), has extended a number of firm-transportation natural gas agreements with We Energies, formerly Wisconsin Electric Power Co.

The contracts initially will provide up to 104,133 MMbtu per day of firm-transportation service to help We Energies meet its customers' seasonal demands. The new agreements continue through Mar. 31, 2004, replacing contracts slated to expire in the fourth quarter.

"We are pleased to enter into these long-term contracts, which demonstrate NGPL's ongoing success in renewing key contracts with valued customers," said KMI Chairman and CEO Richard Kinder. We Energies has been an NGPL customer for many years, he said.

NGPL, which is expected to contribute more than 40% of KMI's cash flow in 2002, is a 10,000-mile pipeline system with peak deliverability of 5.7 bcfd. NGPL transports natural gas to Chicago market and is one of the nation's largest storage operators.
