Miller Petroleum names officers, land manager

Miller Petroleum Inc., Huntsville, Tenn., has appointed two new officers and a land manager.

HOUSTON, June 10 -- Miller Petroleum Inc., Huntsville, Tenn., has appointed two new officers and a land manager.

Teresa Cotton has been named secretary-treasurer, Ernest F. Payne has been named vice-president, field operations, and David Wright has been named land manager.

Prior to joining Miller in 1996, Cotton worked for Halliburton Services, a unit of Dallas-based Halliburton Co. She has more than 20 years experience in the oil and gas industry.

Payne has more than 20 years experience as a supervisor of drilling and workover rigs. Payne served as general manager for Miller in the 1970s before leaving to form his own company. He later rejoined Miller in May 2001.

Wright is a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen and is a registered professional geologist with exploration, lease acquisition and development, and environmental expertise.
