HOUSTON, June 10 -- Hackberry LNG Terminal LLC, a wholly owned unit of Dynegy Midstream Services LP, has filed an application with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for permission to construct and operate an LNG receiving and regasification terminal in Hackberry, La., on the site of its existing terminal.
The Dynegy unit reported its plans for the terminal's construction last year (OGJ, July 16, 2001, p. 8). If built, the facility would bring to five the number of LNG terminals in the US.
If approved, the new terminal would be the first new LNG terminal constructed and placed into operation in the continental US in nearly a quarter century, Hackberry LNG said.
The proposed facilitieswhich will be capable of receiving and processing 1.5 bcfd of natural gasare expected to come online by the fourth quarter of 2006, the Dynegy unit said.
