    ExxonMobil Corp. said it will divest its affiliated companies that hold all of the company's interests in its copper mining business unit Cia. Minera Disputada de las Condes Ltda. to Anglo American PLC for $1.3 billion. Anglo American will also pay future contingent payments in the event of higher future copper prices, ExxonMobil said.

    Legend Natural Gas LP, Houston, closed on 24,000 gross acres of producing natural gas properties in South Texas and on the Texas Gulf Coast from Anadarko Petroleum Corp. for $56.1 million.
  • Wed May 01 09:05:00 CDT 2002 -- EnCana Corp. units acquire US Rockies acreage from El Paso Corp.
    Units of EnCana Oil & Gas (USA) Inc. will acquire 338,000 net acres of land holdings in the Northwest Colorado Rocky Mountains containing natural gas and NGL reserves from El Paso Corp., Houston, for $461 million (Can.) in cash.

    Sasol Petroleum International (Pty.) Ltd. has signed a contract with Atlas Petroleum International Ltd., for Sasol to assume a 20% interest in Block H in the Rio Muni basin in Equatorial Guinea; exploration drilling is slated for next year. Sasol also negotiated a seismic option on I & J blocks, near Bioko Island.

In a separate action, Kern River Gas Transmission Co. won approval to build a $28.9 million lateral pipeline northeast of Los Angeles. Both firms are units of Williams Cos. Inc., Tulsa.

    Conventional natural gas supplies will not be enough to meet the North American market's demand for gas over the next decade.     Black Hills Energy Inc., a unit of Black Hills Corp., Rapid City, SD, acquired Equilon Pipeline Co. LLC's outstanding interests in Millennium Pipeline Co. LP and Millennium Terminal Co. LP, both based in Houston. Black Hills had originally held a one-third interest in the pipeline. The purchase will give Black Hills 100% ownership in the Millennium companies, it said.

    The international unit of Williams Cos. Inc., Tulsa, and Russian oil company OAO Yukos have submitted to the Lithuanian government signed agreements outlining Yukos's purchase of share equity in Lithuanian oil company Mazeikiu Nafta for $75 million.
