HOUSTON, Dec. 19 -- Shell Petroleum Development Co. awarded a $245 million facilities refurbishment and construction contract for its Western Nile Delta Forcados Yokri development to Stolt Offshore SA and a unit of the Nigerian Adamac Group.
The project includes expansion and refurbishment of existing shallow water oil and gas production and process facilities as well as fabrication and installation of a new production platform with a 250-tonne jacket and 1,300-tonne topsides.
Stolt Offshore will do the engineering, procurement, and fabrication part of the contract for $110 million. Suffolk will do installation of 220 km of flowlines and umbilicals in up to 15 m of water.
A pipeline from the Forcados Yokri development will take gas now being flared into an offshore gas system being installed by Stolt Offshore and Adamac Group under a separate contract (OGJ Online, July 24, 2001).
Paragon Litwin, a Stolt Offshore affiliate, will carry out 150,000 hr of engineering work for the project, said Stolt. The production platform and a number of jacket-mounted clusters, bridges, and decks will be fabricated at the Stolt Offshore Globestar yard at Warri, requiring some 600,000 man-hr of work.
Earlier this year, that yard completed the Amenam fabrication work for TotalFinaElf SA.
