HOUSTON, June 19 -- A Williams unit is holding a binding open season until June 29 for shippers interested in annual incremental firm natural gas transportation service on the proposed Western Frontier Pipeline.

Western Frontier Pipeline LLC proposes to construct 400 miles of 30-in. pipeline and 15,000 hp of compression designed to transport up to 540,000 dekatherms/day from the Cheyenne Hub in northeastern Colorado to Williams' Central pipeline system in southwest Kansas, Oklahoma, and markets along the proposed pipeline.

The pipeline is anticipated to be in service by Nov. 1, 2003. During the third quarter, Williams plans to seek authority from Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for the Western Frontier expansion project. Western Frontier would access gas basins in Wyoming and Colorado.

In addition to transportation deliveries to Central's production area at Hugoton, Kan., Western Frontier would have access to other major mid-continent pipelines, including ANR Pipeline, Panhandle Eastern Pipeline, Northern Natural Gas, and Natural Gas Pipeline of America.

Western Frontier's expansion also would have access to the growing Oklahoma intrastate markets via the Central system. Storage would be available through Central.
