EIA predicts high summer gas demand in California

The California natural gas transportation system could become more dependent on electricity in the future to satisfy environmental restrictions, cutting throughput during power outages, the Energy Information Administration said in a special report. The agency also forecast California's gas demand will rise 6.8% this summer over last stressing the in-state pipeline system.
