Natural Resource Group wins Alaska gas pipeline feasibility study contract

By the OGJ Online Staff

HOUSTON, May 29 -- A consortium of Alaskan natural gas producers has awarded Natural Resource Group Inc. (NRG), an environmental consulting firm in Minneapolis, Minn., a contract to conduct feasibility studies for a potential natural gas pipeline from northern Alaska to the lower-48 states.

BP PLC, ExxonMobil Corp. and Phillips Petroleum Co. are working together to evaluate alternative routes to link the gas supply in Prudhoe Bay through Canada with the Lower 48 states (OGJ Online, Apr. 23, 2001).

NRG will conduct a variety of environmental work for the Alaska gas producers pipeline team.

Feasibility studies will help determine the most appropriate pipeline route through a series of environmental studies, including wetland and cultural resource surveys. NRG will also prepare all federal licenses and permit applications for the proposed project.

NRG specializes in environmental permitting and compliance for the natural gas and oil pipeline industries.
