HOUSTON, May 31 -- Fina Antwerp Olefins has awarded M.W. Kellogg Ltd., London, an engineering, procurement, and construction contract for the upgrade and expansion of its NC2 ethylene plant in Antwerp, Belgium.

The contract was awarded after the completion of a competitive bidding process.

"MWKL has a long history of working on this site for over 30 years, having been involved in the execution of both of the existing ethylene plants NC1 and NC3," said Mark Hopkins, an M.W. Kellogg director. "We look forward to utilizing the experience we gained from undertaking the front-end engineering for this development, recently completed."

The contract calls for M.W. Kellogg to install a new pyrolysis furnace and modify the recovery section of the facility. The planned upgrade will improve the plant's energy efficiency, said M.W. Kellogg.

Work will be done in the Greenford offices of MWKL and at the FAO facility in Antwerp.

Completion is scheduled for fourth quarter 2002.
