BP has signed an agreement with Technip SA that makes Technip the exclusive licensing agent for BP's polyethylene and polypropylene Innovene process technology for Europe, the former Soviet Union, South America, China, and Malaysia. Technip will promote, market and sell the technology in those areas either in conjunction or on behalf of BP.
Williams said construction has begun on its $40 million, 300 MMcfd gas processing plant in Markham, Tex. The plant will be very near an existing Williams liquids separation plant.
Siam Polyolefins Co. has selected technology owned by Aspen Technology Inc., Cambridge, Mass., for its polymer manufacturing operations at two sites in Rayong, Thailand. Siam Polyolefins Co. is part of Cementhai Chemicals Co., the petrochemical division of Siam Cement Group.
Indian Oil Corp. Ltd. has selected DuPont technology for use in its purified terephthalic acid plant to be built at Panipat, Haryana state, India, said DuPont Polyester Technologies, a unit of E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Co. DuPont will also provide IOCL training services, commissioning support, and guidance during detailed project execution. The DuPont unit, formed in 2000, said this is its second PTA technology licensing agreement. The unit was created to develop and license technology and create new products.
