Digital Gas Inc., New York City, has a partnership agreement with Dong Sheng Corp. of Shandong Province, China, to provide production services including wax and sand control, fracturing, drilling and completion, heavy oil output, water injection, hydrogen sulfide control, and reservoir enhancement. Production sharing percentages will vary with each project, but will be as high as 40%.

Centurion Energy International Inc., Calgary, has received approval from the Egyptian government to develop El Wastani gas field. It recently completed its second well in the field and plans more 2001-2002.

UTS Energy Corp., a partner in a joint venture exploring in the Fort Hills project in the Athabasca oil sands region of Alberta, said the venture acquired an adjacent oil sands lease. The 5,715-acre lease was acquired at the Dec. 13 Crown lands sale held by the province of Alberta for $5.38 million. UTS Energy holds 22% in Fort Hills. TrueNorth Energy LP, an affiliate of Koch Petroleum Canada LP, operates the project with 78%.

J. Ray McDermott SA, Houston, plans to reactivate its Harbor Island fabrication facility near Corpus Christi, Tex., in early 2001 in anticipation of increased activities in the marine construction industry. About 250 fabrication workers will be hired. The company's backlog has increased by more than $240 million since June. Harbor Island has been idle since 1996. The facility produced steel platform jackets and other offshore platform components up to 36,000 tons.
